The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Josh Andersson to a three-year deal, according to general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.
Andersson will join the club as a restricted free agent, but will not count against the team’s salary cap, which is projected to be $4.9 million.
The 25-year-old defenseman has recorded 33 points (nine goals, 23 assists) in 80 career games with Columbus.
Anderssson was a sixth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Andersseyin was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round (115th overall) of the 2012 Entry Draft.
He has posted nine goals and 15 assists for 28 points (six goals, 17 assists) and a plus-11 rating in 72 career NHL games with Pittsburgh and Columbus.
